The UNESCO Peace Laureate explains why the theme resonates with him: “I feel I’ve been pretty successful in promoting peace and trying to motivate people through so many mediums, but we’ve got to keep moving, we’ve got to keep changing, we’ve got to do better!” To further the cause, WCRD has named Julian Lennon, son of The Beatles Legend, John Lennon, as its ambassador. Unexpectedly, college radio is taking on the role of raising awareness of sustainable peace, touching on issues including oppression, violence, and injustice.
What can you expect from WCRD? Along with other participating radio stations, RK expects to start rousing conversations and engaging dialogues on this year’s theme, “Voices for Peace.” It bested over 600 participants and plans to continue trailblazing in 2022 and beyond.
